Wire Sawing of Concrete Foundations at Tisco, Jamshedpur

M/s Tisco, Jamshedpur has proposed sawing of Concrete foundations at their Slab Casting and Bar casting plants (named LD1 and LD 2) for their up gradation works.

   
The job of Wire sawing the foundations which involved about 300 cum of concrete to be cut in just under 12 days was awarded to the consortium of Varshitha, ACT Chennai and Retrofit, Vizag for execution.
   

The job was executed by the consortium successfully in Two phases to the complete satisfaction of the clients.

 

It is the largest dismantling work carried out using Diamond Cutting Techniques in India.

 

The job involved deployment of 5 nos Wire Saw machines and 13 nos Core drill machines along with the support machines like chipping machines, hammer drills etc.
 

CUTTING OF POCKET IN FOUNDATON BY PLUNGE WIRE SAWING

At Jindal Vijaynagar Steel Limited, Tornagallu, Karnataka wanted to cut a pocket in a foundation to accommodate new equipment. The size of pocket required is 1.20 m x 0.60 m x 2.0 m (depth).

   

The best possible way to achieve the same is using Plunge wire saw technique. The job was entrusted to Varshitha to execute the same.

 

The Job was achieved in 2 days and the pocket was cut out and block removed enabling the clients to erect their new equipment.

 

Plunge wire saw technique is a special technique and sparingly used and specifically used for cutting pockets with only top surface being visible and accessible.
