Restoration of RCC Structure, NALCO Cooling Towers

Overview: Varshitha Concrete Technologies Pvt Ltd took a strategic approach to restore RCC structures of Cooling Towers 1, 2, 4, and 5 at NALCO, focusing on structural rehabilitation and strengthening.
Scope:
- Conducted assessment to identify areas needing rehabilitation.
- Developed a plan for structural enhancements.
- Used advanced techniques like shotcreting, RCC jacketing, and epoxy grouting.
- Applied coatings for durability.
- Maintained timelines and quality standards.
Approach:
- Rehabilitated Gear Box Foundation, Shaft Beam, and Supporting Beams
- Encased Structural I Beams and installed suspenders for baffles
- Repaired joints of precast fill beams, installed RCC fins, strengthened Cantilever beams and Chajjas
- Restored C.T. Fan Dome Shell, GearBox supporting columns, and Roof slab
Duration: May 2022 to April 2024
Outcome: Efficient completion ensuring structural integrity and prolonged operational efficiency for NALCO's cooling towers.
